Zendaya Doesn’t Want To Get In Trouble Over Spider-Man: Homecoming

Working in the entertainment business in 2016 makes it difficult to operate on social media, in interviews, or anywhere in the public eye for that matter — especially when you’re playing a key role in an upcoming super hero flick.

For young actress Zendaya, the experience was on display during an appearance on Good Morning America this week. The actress was on hand to promote a new magazine cover but, of course, the topic of her upcoming portrayal of unnamed character suspected to be a new take on Mary Jane in Marvel Studios‘ Spider-Man: Homecoming came about.

Zendaya quickly shut the conversation down, though.

“It’s very exciting,” Zendaya said. “I can’t say anything because I’m not gonna get in trouble! I’m not gonna be that person that gets in trouble but I can say it’s gonna be a lot of fun.”

When asked if she knows the plot of the entire film or only her own scenes, Zendaya remained tightlipped.

“It’s a very tight situation,” the actress said. “They can’t let anything out. It’s Spider-Man! You know? I’m not gonna get in trouble!”

In Homecoming, a young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

The cast features Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr.. It also includes Jon Favreau, Martin Starr, Kenneth Choi, Michael Mando, Selenis Leyva, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr., JJ Totah, Hannibal Buress, and Jacob Batalon.

The film is being directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car), based on a screenplay by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley (Vacation reboot) and Jon Watts & Christopher Ford and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers.

The film is produced by Marvel boss Kevin Feige and former Sony boss Amy Pascal. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher, Jeremy Latcham, and Stan Lee are serving as Executive Producers.
