When it comes to anime and comic books, fans of one often enjoy the other. The two mediums are closely related in the work of geekdom, and their relationship has only brought interesting crossovers to the table of audiences around the world. In the past, Batman has found himself adapted into an anime, and Kodansha's Attack on Titan got the comic book treatment in 2016 thanks to a slew of western artists. Now, one of Japan's favorite manga artists is taking time to honor one of Marvel's greatest heroes.

UP NEXT: One-Punch Man Anime Season 2 Announced

Over on Twitter, One-Punch Man's Yusuke Murata has thrown fans into a frenzy after he released several stunning pieces of artwork. The artwork features Spider-Man front and center, and the sleek illustration has fans begging for the artist to lend his talent to Marvel Comics.

The first picture is simply captioned "Winter Spidey" and sees Spider-Man perched atop a sky scraper in New York. The imposing image shows the teenage vigilante is crouched over the skyline and watching what appears to be Queens while suited up.

A second image of Spider-Man was also uploaded by Murata. The hero can be seen swinging around the Chrysler building, and he is not afraid to show off his web-shooters. The masked superhero can be seen leaning backwards as he shoots out several strands of impossibly strong webbing to some unknown foe.

For gamers, Murata also shared a rather intricate picture he drew for Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. The illustration highlights dozens of characters from the fighting franchise as well as heroes like Iron Fist, Deadpool, Iron Man, Wolverine, and more.

Of course, this is not Murata's first time working with superheroes. The artist is best-known for his work on the manga One-Punch Man which began in June 2012 following its webcomic debut. The illustrator teamed up with creator One to remake the series, and Murata's artwork has become a staple for the series. His designs helped influence the wildly popular One-Punch Man anime, and fans continue to look forward to his work on its manga. Right now, 12 volumes of One-Punch Man have been released, and its 70th chapter debuted not long ago.

2017 is shaping up to be a busy one of Murata and the One-Punch Man crew. The manga is still in publication, and its anime will be making a long-awaited comeback sometime later in the year. Season 2 was confirmed back in September 2016, and anime enthusiasts were hyped to hear that Saitama would be returning to the small screen to face-off against terrifying new villains.
