One-Punch Man is about to knockout fans with its latest update. The franchise's wildly popular anime is officially getting a second season. Slated for a 2017 release, One-Punch Man will return with another exciting season and a mobile game to match.

The project was confirmed recently at the "One Punch Man Fall Festival" event earlier today. The creators of the anime debuted a promotional image for the second season that looks as strong as Saitama's uppercut. The poster features yellow-and-red lettering and an image of a large fist. Currently, there's no word on when the new season will premiere or how many episodes it will house, but the studio behind One-Punch Man teased information would be released soon.

If you're not familiar with One-Punch Man, then it is time you binged the first hilarious season. Created in 2009, the series began as a webcomic created by an author using the pseudyonym One.

The series follows a hero named Saitama in a strange, disaster-prone world. The character is known as the strongest superhero of Z-City as he can easily defeat anyone - or anything - with just a single punch. However, Saitama misses the thrill of fighting and becomes desperate to find a villain who can actually challenge him. One-Punch Man follows Saitama and his fellow heroes as they take on horrifying monsters, struggle to save the world, and gain recognition for their heroic efforts.

Fans flocked to the viral comic, so one of Japan's major manga publishers Shueisha remade the series alongside One and illustrator Yusuke Murata. The remakedebuted in 2012, and Madhouse used the manga as the basis for their One-Punch Man anime. The show, which debuted in 2015, was praised by both fans and critics who enjoyed the show's all-out action and humor. The series' popularity has helped One-Punch Man thrive over the past few years as its manga houses over 65 chapters. Its U.S. debut put One-Punch Man on the New York Times Best-Sellers list, and it was even nominated for an Eisner Award in 2015.

So, naturally, it looks like Saitama's over-powered abilities have helped him take on more than just megalomaniacs and monsters.
