Fan Creates Awesome Friends/Rick and Morty Mash Up

In a world of infinite possibilities and even more parallel realities, there’s one where an adult cartoon with horrible role models became the most popular television show in the world. So we wouldn’t need someone to edit footage to a classic theme song to make it seem like it always existed.

Unfortunately, in this reality, Rick and Morty is arguably at “cult status”—no where near the echelon reserved for multi-camera, situational comedy classics like Friends.

Fortunately, that’s why YouTube exists.

YouTube user DandyDani spliced together a few different scenes from Adult Swim‘s amazing dimension-hopping animated series and set it to the classic theme song by the Rembrandts, “I’ll Be There For You.”


You might be used to the song cut over highlights of antics between titular friends Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Monica, Ross, and Chandler. But not here, oh no.

It’s done pretty well and looks like it could be lifted straight from an Interdimensional Cable episode.

For those of you who are unaware of this wonderful TV series, the show is about a group of friends who go through thick and thin together. Some of them fall in love, some of them fall in love with each other, but no matter what they always remain F·R·I·E·N·D·S.

After having been missing for nearly 20 years, Rick Sanchez suddenly arrives at daughter Beth’s doorstep to move in with her and her family. Although Beth welcomes Rick into her home, her husband, Jerry, isn’t as happy about the family reunion. Jerry is concerned about Rick, a sociopathic scientist, using the garage as his personal laboratory. In the lab, Rick works on a number of sci-fi gadgets, some of which could be considered dangerous. But that’s not all Rick does that concerns Jerry. He also goes on adventures across the universe that often involve his grandchildren, Morty and Summer.
