Veronica Mars star Jason Dohring made his first appearance on iZombie, The CW‘s DC/Vertigo adaptation, last week — and he’s a badass zombie.
Appearing at Fillmore-Graves, Dohring — who has also appeared on The CW’s The Tomorrow People and The Originals — will be Chase Graves, a mercenary who takes the work he and Vivian Stoll are doing at FG very, very seriously and will brook no arguments from his soldiers — including Major Lilywhite, who of course is no longer a zombie at all.

Details about Dohring’s role were kept under wraps until his first appearance last week, but the character — pictured above — is expected to appear for at least five more episodes and play a major role in the rest of the season.
iZombie showrunner Rob Thomas was also the creator of Veronica Mars, and many of his actors from that show have returned to work with him again on projects like Party Down, Play It Again, Dick, and iZombie.
“He’s such a professional; he’s wonderful and a huge asset to have on the show,” McIver said of Dohring during a set visit back in November. “Every time Rob Thomas and Diane [Ruggiero-Wright] bring back actors they’ve worked with before, it’s always because we know they’ve really loved the experience of working working with those actors, and so it’s always a gift when they arrive on set. He’s got some great ideas for his character. I can say it’s not something you’ve seen him do before.”
In Veronica Mars, Dohring played “obligatory psychotic jackass” Logan Echolls, who was Veronica’s on-again/off-again love interest for most of the series.
iZombie airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
