With the release date rapidly approaching, we’re starting to learn more about the circumstances that bring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist together to battle the forces of the Hand.
Fans have already been lucky enough to view quite a few different set photos, but official stills have been hard to come by. Sure we’ve had the spread from EW followed by the official trailer, but Marvel Television and Netflix have been keeping a tight lid on everything else regarding Defenders.
But now we have Krysten Ritter to thank for a brand new photograph from the set of the show. And while it looks as official as anything we’ve already seen, the beaming smile from Charlie Cox almost makes us feel like this was from a bad take.
Then again, the Daredevil has been known to smile maniacally in the face of a good fight. So this wouldn’t exactly be out of character.
Defenders has been hyped ever since that original Marvel and Netflix deal was announced — it’s pretty insane that it’s so close to becoming a reality. It’s only a matter of time before we get to see the newest supergroup go toe to toe with a bunch of ninjas. We’re pretty excited to see how Elodie Young’s Elektra and Sigourney Weaver’s new character come into play.
Marvel’s Defenders premieres August 18.
