For the rest of today, comic book legend Stan Lee's recent prose novel The Zodiac Legacy: The Dragon's Return, co-written with longtime comics editor Stuart Moore and Andie Tong, can be yours (digitally, at least) for under a buck.

Via the BookBub discount eBook service, readers who want to get a deeply discounted digital copy of the novel can do so for Apple, Google, Barnes & Noble's Nook, and more.

Here's how the publisher describes the novel, a middle-reader book that was first announced in late 2013:

"A fast-paced, action-filled superhero adventure" (School Library Journal) from the legendary writer who revolutionized Marvel Comics: When a dangerous villain plots to steal the Zodiac's powers, Stephen has to find a way to bring his teammates together — or face disaster!

The Zodiac series are illustrated prose novels that follow Steven Lee, a young Chinese-American teen who is drawn into a mysterious conspiracy surrounding twelve mystical pools of energy and a power-hungry secret organization. When he and other teens around the world are suddenly gifted with magical powers, they have to find each other and learn how to handle fantastic abilities and responsibilities. Their greatest hopes and deepest fears will be brought to light by the powers of the zodiac!

Working from a core concept pitched by Lee and POW! Entertainment and developed with Disney Publishing Worldwide, SVP and Group Publisher Jeanne Mosure appointed acquiring editor Nachie Marsham to the project, who ultimately paired Moore and Tong with Lee.

"I'm thrilled to be working with Disney Publishing Worldwide with whom I always hoped to develop this project," said Lee at the time of the announcement. "Our partnership has been enormously fruitful, collaborative and great fun." Adds Mosure, "It's a dream come true to be involved with this fantastic creative team, launching a compelling new property and introducing a rich new world to middle-grade readers through this unique book."

As with nearly everything Lee has created in recent years, it was developed with an eye toward other media adaptations to film, TV, and video games. The first Zodiac novel debuted in 2015.
