Crunchyroll Has Bad News For Demon Slayer Fans

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is on its way to becoming the biggest anime movie of all time, garnering steam to overtake its predecessor, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. With Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps’ latest film scoring the top spot for its opening weekend in North America, Crunchyroll has some bad news who might be waiting to experience the juggernaut anime film on the small screen. Recently, an executive working for the streaming service dropped big news regarding the fight against Muzan and when we can expect it to arrive on the platform.

Mitchel Berger, Executive Vice President, Global Commerce at Crunchyroll, confirmed that Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle wouldn’t be arriving on Crunchyroll this year. In speaking with the outlet PopVerse, Berger emphasized the fact that anime fans need to visit theaters to see the Hashira’s latest adventure, “Go see [Demon Slayer Infinity Castle] in the theater because the theater is the only place you’re going to be able to see this film in 2025. If you want to see it, go see it in the theater because that’s the only place it’s going to be available.” While Mitchel didn’t hint at an exact release date for the shonen film, 2026 appears to be the year when Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will land on Crunchyroll.

The Demon Slayer Cast Prepares For The End

Recently, we here at ComicBook.com had the chance to chat with Zach Aguilar, the voice actor who has been bringing Tanjiro to life for years, about the end of the series. Aguilar will be sad to depart from the franchise as the final fight arrives, “I mean, I think being a fan of the story and the manga in general, it’s been awesome to see it all adapted, and I think the word, for me, is bittersweet.”

Aguilar also discussed his love of the shonen franchise and how he followed it through the manga to learn more of what was to come. “I think that’s the hardest part, and I know some actors choose not to read the source material because of that, and because they want to live in the moment of the character. If you have in your head how you’re gonna do a specific scene, exactly like how you’re gonna read it, maybe you’re looking at the manga, and our lines in the dub might, like, they could vary slightly. I think that’s the tricky part of being an actor and being, like, really passionate about the material. You don’t want to think too hard, you don’t want to over-prepare for what you’re going to do in the movie.”

As of the writing of this article, there have been no hints as to when we can expect the next two films of Demon Slayer’s grand finale trilogy. There have been rumors that the sequel films will arrive yearly, but nothing concrete has been released. Luckily, if you want to see the story’s grand finale, the entirety of the manga has ended thanks to Koyoharu Gotouge.
