“You wouldn’t sprint without stretching beforehand, right? Right,” Amell wrote. “Well…Arrow is back October 8th and it’s time that we collectively begin to stretch our (metaphorical) hamstrings before we visually assault you (in a good way) with Season 3.”

He added, “Tomorrow night at 8 pm EST, the CW is airing our S2 finale: ‘Unthinkable.’ I’m going to live tweet it despite the fact that I’m working this week more than any human being should work. (Full disclaimer: I’m an actor and it’s not actually difficult work or even definable labor, but still.) So come watch the show with me. Let’s goose the ratings a little bit. Tell your friends, share this post. The fact that this is a rerun will let me be a little more descriptive and spoilery (specific to this ep, not S3). Also, I’m hilarious. My tweets are hilarious. I PROMISE YOU THEY ARE!”
Amell attracted a lot of mainstream media attention for his social media savvy during the show’s second season, and given the fact that the recently-released DVD and Blu-ray editions of the show don’t carry creator commentaries on them, Amell’s live-tweet might actually be the best way to get something resembling a running commentary on the episode that might be included on home video since, as he noted, the season being finished and certain key points about the cliffhanger already being out there in the open means he’s in a position to give more insight than when the episoode was airing for the first time.
Arrow airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW today, Tuesday, September 23. The series returns with new episodes on October 8 at the same time. You can follow Stephen Amell on Twitter here.
