Syfy’s Being Human, the American version of a recently-cancelled British series by the same name, will end its four-year run on April 7, the cast revealed today in a farewell and thank you video directed at fans. This is the first cancellation decision made by Syfy’s new head of programming, who took the job in November 2013. It’s also the latest in a spate of cancellations or at least tense renewal talks of long-running original series for NBC Universal, Syfy’s parent company. Burn Notice was cancelled in 2013, and word of Psych‘s end came just days before the news that its USA Network stablemate White Collar is in danger of cancellation as renewal talks are stalled. The thank-you video a month before the finale is the same basic approach that the hit USA Network dramedy Psych used in announcing its impending cancellation earlier this month; Psych‘s final episode will air on March 26, followed by an hour-long, live Q&A session with producers and stars.”Showrunner Anna Fricke and the talented producers, writers, cast and crew have done an amazing job bringing this show to life over the past four seasons and we sincerely thank them and the series’ production company Muse Entertainment for their hard work,” Syfy said of Being Human. “They’ve saved the best for last with the final six episodes that revisit the story’s beginning, leading to a not-to-be-missed send-off for Aidan, Sally, Josh and Nora.”For those still unaware, Nora and Josh are werewolves, while Aidan is a vampire and Sally is a ghost. They live together in a house and try to manage the supernatural elements of their lives.
