The series will give a contemporary facelift to the 1987 novel. The TV series will focus on an app design who teams up with a pastry chef who just learned he’s destined to be the guardian of a mystical realm that can only be accessed via a portal in a Savannah mansion. The duo battle evil forces attempting to take control of the realm.
Weaveworld has long been considered a project impossible to pull off on a TV budget, though Showtime and others have tried to turn it into a miniseries before. Technological advances have led The CW – home of special effects heavy show liek The Flash and Arrow – to believe that is no longer the case.
