JSA Green Lantern  The Flash

The writer, who started his career as a personal assistant to Superman: The Movie director Richard Donner, has gone on to become one of the most acclaimed and recognizable superhero writers in modern history. His Green Lantern run is generally accepted as the best on the book since Green Lantern/Green Arrow by Dennis O’Neil and Neal Adams, and we at ComicBook.com called its finale the best single issue of Green Lantern ever written.

Besides his eclectic comics career, in which he’s frequently rehabbed characters nobody thought could be saved like Hawkman, Aquaman and Booster Gold, Johns is recognizable for his work on SmallvilleArrow and The Flash, the last of which employs him as an executive producer and has adapted a number of elements of his time on the comic book of the same name.

Other career highlights include a long, acclaimed run on Teen Titans, the Infinite Crisis and Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds miniseries, the Day of Judgment miniseries in which Hal Jordan was returned from the dead and its companion, Green Lantern: Rebirth in which he stopped being The Spectre and started being Green Lantern again, and a short run on The Avengers which was his only notable work at Marvel before his career exploded at DC.

Johns will executive produce CBS’s Supergirl next year.
