Matt Damon only has twenty-five lines in Universal’s Jason Bourne, letting the former Treadstone agent’s punches do most of the talking for him. In this latest featurette, Matt Damon, director Paul Greengrass, and fight coordinator Roger Yuan discuss Bourne’s efficient and deadly fighting style.
“It is a big JasonBourne movie,” Damon says. “And we’re building the fights like fans of movie fights.Bourne’s style requires a lot of improvising. He’s always trying to neutralize whatever the other person has, and he’ll use found objects. He actually breaks a chair and uses pieces of the chair-leg.” He adds, “All Treadstone agents are able to pick-up anything and use it to their advantage, and so, this movie has the mother of all Treadstone fights.”

“It’s a style of fighting where you use anything,” Greengrass offers. “Bourne uses anything and everything that he can see around him. We get to see him exploiting that.”
