There are a myriad of variations with Muppets, George C. Scott, contemporary incarnations…something for everybody. It’s a classic. But there’s something about A Christmas Carol that means so much more if it’s read aloud.

Modern day storytelling legend Neil Gaiman read Dickens’ classic for the New York Public Library last year, which was from an annotated edition by Dickens himself. If you have time, give a listen, in case you missed out.

Gaiman could make a takeout menu sound intriguing with that voice.
