20th Century Fox has released a new TV spot for Alien: Covenant, and it provides us with our first look at Noomi Rapace‘s Dr. Elizabeth Shaw — the scientist filled with faith and hope — in the Prometheus sequel.

However, it’s only a hologram of Shaw. The crew of the Covenant come across it when they inspect the interior of the Juggernaut — the alien spacecraft Shaw and a body-less David (Michael Fassbender) were last seen on board as they headed toward the Engineers’ home world in search of answers.

The holographic image of Shaw is still interesting in and of itself, as it hints at another horrific encounter with the blond-android. From what we can see, Shaw’s arms are splayed out to her sides and her wrists are fastened to some contraption. And since director Ridley Scott filled up the last film with religious imagery, we can safely assume Shaw’s pose is meant to evoke Jesus on the cross.

A clip from the film, which hasn’t been officially released online yet, was shown last week at CinemaCon. In it, we see that the Juggernaut has reached its destination; however, only David — whose head is now reattached to his body — appeared in the footage. So we’re not sure if Shaw made it there alive or dead, or even at all. To get back to the clip, it shows the android exit the ship and is greeted by a large crowd of Engineers. He then murders them all with bombs of black goo, the same biological weapon the Engineers created to kill off humanity and the reason the Xenomorphs were created. Noice!

From that, we can take a guess David experimented on Shaw during or after their journey.

Director Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

The cast features Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, and Benjamin Rigby.

Alien: Covenant opens in theaters on May 19, 2017.
