Production has shut down on Rizzoli & Isles as the show’s stars and producers struggle to cope both personally and professionally with the loss of Lee Thompson Young, who was found dead this morning at his home in Los Angeles.Discussions are reportedly ongoing as to whether the series will resume production tomorrow or to on hiatus while the writers rework the season to deal with the loss of Young’s character.Young, best known to comics fans as Victor Stone, a.k.a. Cyborg, on The CW Network’s long-running Superman drama Smallville, died earlier today, reportedly of a gunshot wound. Police and representatives for Young are treating the death as a suicide.”Everyone at Rizzoli & Isles is devastated by the news of the passing of Lee Thompson Young. We are beyond heartbroken at the loss of this sweet, gentle, good-hearted, intelligent man,” came a statement from TNT, Warner Bros TV and executive producer Janet Tamaro. “He was truly a member of our family. Lee will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him, both on- and offscreen, for his positive energy, infectious smile and soulful grace. We send our deepest condolences and thoughts to his family, to his friends and, most especially, to his beloved mother.”The series, which airs on TNT, was renewed for a fifth season on Thursday.
