Recent tracking estimates Deadpool will open between $55 and $60 million this weekend at the North American box office. If the film is embraced overseas as well, you can expect 20th Century Fox to green light a sequel fairly quickly.

Director Tim Miller and the film’s star, Ryan Reynolds, have already hinted that Cable is being strongly considered for the sequel, but who would play him? Last month, Deadpool and Cable creator Rob Liefeld said Mad Men star, Jon Hamm, is his top-pick to play the X-Force founder and original leader.

When Ryan Reynolds and T.J. Miller were recently asked who they would like to see play Cable, they jokingly suggested Barbara Walters, Topher Grace and Barbara Frum, a Canadian radio and television journalist.

“That’s a really tough casting choice, because you have to find someone who is possessive of some unique characteristics,” Reynolds told Ron Richards of iFanboy.com on special assignment for ComicBook.com.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool hits theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.
