Sam Raimi is the man responsible for bring Peter Parker to the big screen in the original Sony-Marvel Spider-Man trilogy. The first two films were considered new high water marks in superhero cinema, but the third left audiences disappointed.

In an interview with The Week, Raimi owns up to the failure of Spider-Man 3, and says he’d be interested in helping Marvel with whatever they have in store next for the wall crawler.

“I messed up on the third one,” Raimi said. “I think they’re so complete now, Marvel. They probably don’t need me anymore. But if they needed me? I’d love to. It’s great to be wanted.”
