As Morgan hunted for Carol, he found her, but he also found someone offering help. Were those men in combat gear actually good guys? If the show follows the comics, yes, but it doesn’t always do that.

The Kingdom, in the comics, is a college campus turned into a Safe-Zone like Alexandria. It is lead by a very kingly man by the name of Ezekiel who was a zookeeper prior to the apocalypse which explains why he rules the roost with his loyal, protective tiger, Shiva.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, The Walking Dead showrunner was directly asked if we’ll be seeing The Kingdom when The Walking Dead returns in the fall.

“Those guys may or may not have been from The Kingdom,” Gimple teased. “We may or may not see The Kingdom. If we do see The Kingdom, it’ll be a big reveal and it’ll be another new world to inhabit and explore.”

As for the tiger, Gimple is also not quite ready to give too much away, but he knows what fans want and sounds ready to give it to them.

“Can we have a real tiger? That’s a great way to put the questions to me because it sort of corners me into a spoiler,” Gimple started. “I would say, in a really cheeky way, that we can have a lot of things and people are gonna have to wait and see. If I were just watching the show – I’d want to see that tiger.”

As for whether or not Ezekiel has been cast, that’s a subject Gimple is ready to touch on at all just yet as it would he says that would reveal “if we’re seeing The Kingdom or not.”

The Walking Dead will return for its seventh season in October but we can expect the season trailer to arrive in July, spawning from San Diego Comic Con.
