Weaver said filming for the three sequels, which are being film back-to-back-to-back, will begin this fall. More importantly, she revealed that she will be playing a new character.
In the 2009’s billion dollar blockbuster Avatar, Sigourney Weaver played Dr. Grace Augustine, the leader of the AVTR (avatar) program. She was fatally wounded during a skirmish and Jake (Sam Worthington) took her human body to Tree of Souls and her soul became part of Eywa.
