During tonight’s midseason six premiere of The Walking Dead, Enid and Glenn scavenged a church nearby Alexandria for supplies. Needless to say, mild spoilers for the ninth episode of The Walking Dead’s sixth season follow, titled, “No Way Out.”

While Enid and Glenn debated on whether or not they could find supplies and for reasons to continue, Enid noticed writing on the wall which read, “Faith without works is dead.”

These words are from James 2:20 which states and on the wall in No Way Out was accompanied by James 2:26, which in its verse, reads, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

The verse suggests that people will do what they believe is good. If they believe but don’t act, their belief will make no difference. Perhaps Enid was the religious type prior to the apocalypse.

Or maybe Glenn’s speech was what motivated Enid to make her was out of the church. This seems more like a foreshadowing of another character’s actions later in the same episode.
