It’s been a very competitive summer at the box office. Since the 2014 summer box office season kicked off at the beginning of May, no one film has led the U.S. weekend box office for more than one weekend. That is until now.
Transformers: Age of Extinction has just become the first summer 2014 movie to repeat at the U.S. weekend box office in the #1 position. Over the Fourth of July weekend, Transformers: Age of Extinction brought in $36 million, which was good enough to take the #1 spot in the face of relatively weak competition. Tammy debuted in the #2 spot with $21 million, and Deliver Us From Evil finished third with $9.5 million.
