Valiant Comics is teasing a new mystery project with a strange image and a major creative team. The image shows strange lines of varying lengths that look somewhat like an old school radio dial. The team? Academy Award nominated writer of Arrival, Eric Heisserer, and long-time Valiant artists Raul Allen and Patricia Martin.

The only accompanying text indicates this is coming “This June…” and that the secret will be revealed tomorrow. Valiant informed Comicbook.com that designer Rian Hughes is behind the teaser image, which you can see in full in the gallery below.

Looking at the creative team involved, it’s certainly easy to assume this will be something to do with the Eternal Warrior. The immortal brother is a character that both Allen and Martin have provided art for over the last year and a half, though he’s not the only one for either of them. Martin also worked on Bloodshot Reborn and Ninjak, and Allen worked on Ivar, Timewalker and Unity. Valiant has been known to shift their artists around a bit, as well, so it’s quite possible they’re doing something completely different.

Nevertheless, getting Heisserer to write a comic for them at the top of his game is a huge coup. The writer has steadily progressed from horror fair like A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Thing reboots to the celebrated and multi-nominated Arrival. Given his horror background, perhaps we could be getting something with more of a horror slant from him?
We’ll find out for sure tomorrow, but for today, know that Valiant is coming to play on Thursday.
