When we first reported on rumors that Warner Bros. might be looking at a release date earlier than summer 2015 for a Man Of Steel sequel, we were very leery of the information. We didn’t see how it would even be possible for director Zack Snyder to turn around Man Of Steel 2 that quickly, given how much CGI work typically goes into a superhero film. Then, the Wall Street Journal went on the record saying their knowledgeable sources had indicated that Man Of Steel 2 was being fast tracked for a 2014 release date with the Justice League to follow in 2015. Even though the Wall Street Journal tends to be pretty reliable and not dabble much in rumors, we still thought this seemed like an almost unbelievably quick turn around time, so we reached out to Warner Bros. for comment. We asked Warner Bros. if the Wall Street Journal report was accurate and if it was even logistically possible to have the Man Of Steel sequel ready for a 2014 release date.We were half-expecting a denial, but instead of a denial, Warner Bros. EVP of Theatrical Communications Jack Horner gave us a polite, “No comment.” With Henry Cavill back in the gym, rumors that David S. Goyer may have already completed the script, and Zack Snyder’s future film schedule open, we’re starting to believe that a Man Of Steel will fly again in 2014. The only big hurdle might be that star Henry Cavill has signed to be part of The Man From U.N.C.L.E., but Warner Bros. is also the studio behind that film so we’re sure that could probably be worked out.
