Final Issue of Nova Released

Former Nova writer Jeff Loveness sadly announced to fans that the book’s final issue released on Wednesday. Nova #7 will bring the adventures of Richard Rider and Sam Alexander to a close, at least for now.

Loveness said “Final issue of Nova is out today. Monster fights. Hoe attacks. Mom Candide. War & Peace. Boys staring. Flying in space. I loved this book.” He also included several images in the tweet, which you can see here.

Marvel has started cancelling some of their lower tier books in preperation for Marvel Legacy, an initivitve that will put the focus back on their A-tier characters. Sadly that means gems like Nova, Spider-Woman, and the like could end before fans are ready, but hopefully they’ll see rebirth as it were later on.

Nova #7 is written by Ramon Perez with art by Scott Hepburn and Ramon Perez. The official description for the issue is below.

As Richard Rider struggles to come to terms with the revelations from his return to the Cancerverse, Sam Alexander struggles with homework, his family and (gulp) dating!

Doctor Strange Gets A New Apprentice

Life around Doctor Strange is always a bit, well, odd is the nice way to put it. When he isn’t snacking on alien eyeballs to keep his strength up or keeping horrid creatures made up of his suffering in the basement, things are still never really normal.

That’s why it helps to have allies you can call on in a pinch, something that Wong has always been to Strange. After events take Strange and Zelma Stanton to another dimension though, Strange ends up being poisoned.

As the enemy approaches, Stanton uses her limited knowledge of the last remaining spell book (and a nifty wand they picked up earlier in the issue) to absorb the poison, allows Strange to get them back home.

Unfortunately, her body can’t deal with the poison like his can, and so to save her he has to make her like him, something Wong won’t stand for. He cures Zelma, but in doing so gives her the same awareness for magic that he has.

Wong takes his leave of the Sanctum Santorum, and by issue’s end, Zelma takes the role of Strange’s new apprentice.

Doctor Strange #20 is written by Jason Aaron with art by Kevin Nowlan and Chris Bachalo. The official description is located below.

The culmination of Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo’s first three epic stories is here! Dormammu! Mordo! Mr. Misery! The Empirikul! Wong! Don’t miss this remarkable issue!
