5 DC Villains Who Would Be No Match for Marvel’s Most Savage Mutant

Wolverine is the best there is at what he does and that’s tear through bad guys. Over the years, many antagonists have fallen before his claws, from non-descript ninjas to supervillains of varying levels of popularity. Logan is among the toughest mutants out there, his healing factor and adamantium letting him survive anything thrown at him, and he’s also one of the most savage. Wolvie has sort of cooled down in a lot of ways from the old days of constant berserker rages, but that doesn’t mean that he’s any less dangerous in battles. In fact, while he’s in better control of his rage nowadays, he’s more likely to go for throat with his foes, taking them down quickly as possible.

Wolverine has battled nearly every major villain in the Marvel Universe and taken out some surprising ones. Drop him in to DC Comics and it would be much the same. While there are definitely bad guys who can take him down, some of the publisher’s most popular villains would find themselves falling short in battle against the ol’ Canucklehead. These formidable DC villains would fall before Marvel’s most savage mutant, all of their skills failing before his adamantium-clad might.

5) Vandal Savage

Vandal Savage is one of the Justice League’s most dangerous foes. He was once a caveman, finding a meteor that had fallen to Earth. He was blessed with immortality, super strength, enhanced intellect, super agility, increased durability, and a healing factor. He and Logan have a lot in common – they’re both older than they appear and have no problem throwing down in the bloodiest ways possible – but despite his greater experience, Vandal would fall to the ol’Canucklehead. Savage is Wolvie’s superior in a lot of ways, but there’s really not much he could do that would actually hurt Logan. His only chance would be to build some kind of magnetic trap, but that would take time. In a straight-up fight, Savage loses a hundred perfect of the time. He would get his shots in and even may get the upper hand at times, but he just doesn’t have the offensive oomph to do Wolvie in quick enough. Even if he had access to the kind of weapons he uses against the Justice League, he still couldn’t take out the diminutive mutant.

4) Ra’s al Ghul

Batman faces some genius villains, but few of them are as dangerous or intelligent as Ra’s al Ghul. The Demon’s Head has used the Lazarus Pits to keep himself alive for hundreds of years, the healing fluids making him stronger, faster, and smarter than baseline humans. He’s been fighting for the vast majority of life and is an unparalleled swordsman and hand to hand combatant, able to beat Batman in battle. Wolverine versus Ra’s al Ghul would be one of the coolest fights ever. Wolvie would run through the League of Assassins like, well, adamantium through flesh, leading to a final battle between him and al Ghul. Ra’s is good and would quickly surmise that he could cut Logan’s head off with a precision strike to the disks in the neck, but it would be very hard for him to follow through. Logan is no slouch when it comes to sword fighting and Ra’s likes to challenge people to this kinds of battles, which would even things up. Logan is just plain tougher than Ra’s al Ghul, and that’s going to allow him to win any battle between the two of them.

3) Toyman

Toyman may not seem like all that formidable of a villain and there’s a lot to that. Winslow Schott is just a smart man who can make robots and once you get in his face, you’ve pretty much won the fight. However, it’s getting to that point that’s difficult. Toyman goes up against Superman, the most powerful single hero on Earth. He has to build robots that can challenge someone at the Man of Steel’s level, which means that he would be able to do a lot of damage to a lot of other heroes. However, it wouldn’t be too much for Wolverine. Toyman is similar to someone that Wolvie has fought a lot – the assassin Arcade – and he’s always been adroit at fighting robotic enemies. Toyman’s toys would slow him down, but that’s all they would do. He’d tear through Schott’s defenses and then tear through him, ending the threat of the villain terminally.

2) Two-Face

Two-Face is one of Batman’s most formidable foes. While part of this is the fact that the Dark Knight loves Harvey Dent and wants to save him, bringing him back to the side of angels, it’s mainly because Dent is really that good. He’s surprisingly stuff, able to explode with rage at his targets and do a lot of damage. He’s pretty good with a death trap and is a killer with pistols and knives. He’s good at luring people in and taking advantage of them, but that’s not really going to do much against Wolverine. To begin with, Wolvie has no kind of connection to Harvey Dent, so he’s not going to fall for the puppie dog eyes routine that Batman does. That takes a major weapon out of Dent’s arsenal. While he’s definitely still tough in a fight, he’s tough against humans. Wolvie is stronger, faster, and more durable than all of that, meaning that Dent’s handgun isn’t going to have much of an effect. A death trap is his best bet, but even then, it’s hard to figure out one that Logan couldn’t break out of. Two-face is good, but he isn’t on Wolvie’s level.

1) The Joker

The Joker is Batman’s most dangerous villain and the proof is in the pudding. Over the years, the Clown Prince of Crime’s attacks on Gotham City have become the stuff of twisted legend, ending the lives of thousands of innocent people. He’s the kind of person who spends a bunch of time creating various poisons, lovingly crafting his Joker toxins to make them more dangerous. I’ve often said that the Joker is a master of hurting people; he’s not a skilled swordsman, but if you put one in his hand, he’ll figure out how to use it to hurt you quickly. He’s shockingly strong and fast and his insanity means that he keeps going through every injury you thrown at him. Joker and Wolverine would make for an interesting fight, because the villain would be able to lead Logan around by the nose for a while, trying to come up with traps and poisons that could actually hurt the mutant. It would eventually come down to a real fight, and that’s not a battle that Joker can win. He’d get some good shots in, but there’s nothing he could do to win. Wolvie doesn’t have that problem and would make mincemeat of the clown.
