Batman is one of the most well-known heroes in the comic industry. There are multiple reasons why Batman has become so popular, with one of the biggest being his villains. Gotham City is one of the most dangerous cities in fiction, filled with numerous gangs and crime lords. The villains of Gotham City are a colorful lot, ranging from gimmick villains who like to steal to mass-murdering psychos, challenging Batman and his Bat-Family every time they swing through the city. Batman’s villains are widely considered to be the best rogues’ gallery in comics, formidable foes who stick out in a world full of supervillains.

Batman villains have aura in a way that many villains could only dream about. They have the best costumes, great personalities, and are massively threatening, all of which add up to make them some of the coolest villains ever. These ten Batman villains have the most aura, villains who are as awesome as they are dangerous.
10. Mister Freeze

Mister Freeze became popular because of Batman: The Animated Series, and joined the ranks of Batman’s best villains. Mister Freeze is a (excuse the pun) cool villain. His armor and bluish-white skin give him an amazing look, and his obsession with his wife, Nora, and saving her make him one of the most compelling villains out there. Mister Freeze has basically everything you could want from a villain, his tragic backstory and awesome look giving him amazing aura. It’s honestly been a good couple of years for Mister Freeze fans, as the character has changed in numerous ways, changing in ways that make him more intriguing. The new Absolute Mister Freeze is also an awesome villain, taking the sci-fi trappings of the original Freeze and subbing in horror.
9. Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy is going through a renaissance right now, but she’s always been an awesome villain. Poison Ivy has always had aura. She was the perfect femme fatale villain, a beautiful woman who could manipulate anyone into doing whatever she wanted. Poison Ivy’s connection to the Green and her love of plants make her unique among Batman’s villains; in a lot of ways, she’s actually an altruist. She wants to protect the environment, and if she has to kill a lot of people to do it, she will. Plus, Poison Ivy is always ready with a biting remark and is full of great puns, and that’s before we get to the undeniable sex appeal of the character. She’s a remarkably cool character, and that’s helped her aura stay at godlike levels.
8. Killer Croc

Killer Croc has always been the monster of the Batman villains. He’s a mountain of scales, claws, and muscle, and you know that when Killer Croc shows up, things are about to get dangerous. Killer Croc’s bestial nature has made him one of the most formidable bad guys in Gotham City. He’s not a smart villain, but he’s going to tear apart everything in front of him, and it’s not going to be a good time for anyone fighting him. Croc also changes, which is part of what makes him so interesting. Sometimes, he’s a more human enemy, sometimes he’s more of an animal. Sometimes, he’s an enemy and sometimes he’s a friend. However, there’s just something about Killer Croc, and it’s why he’s been such a popular villain over the years.
7. Scarecrow

Scarecrow has always been one of the aura-rich villains out there. It all starts with his look. Scarecrow is the master of fear, and his entire vibe has been tailored in that direction. Sometimes, he looks like an undead revenant that just walked out of a cornfield. Other times, he looks like a technological terror with syringes for fingers. Scarecrow understands how to use his looks to create terror, and that’s before we get to the hallucinogenic fear gas or the sinister plans that usually involve trying to make a whole city homicidally afraid of each other. His entire career is all about fear and cultivating an aura of menace, one that does half of the job for him.
6. Talia al Ghul

The al Ghul family is all about aura, and Talia follows in those footsteps wonderfully. Talia al Ghul is one of the most dangerous women in the world, and you can tell every time she walks into a room. She has that edge to her; you know that anything she tells you she can do, she can do. She’s smarter than you, she’s a better fighter than you, and she’s already figured out the entire situation and is multiple steps ahead of everyone. That’s Talia al Ghul in a nutshell, and that’s what she brings to the table every time she shows up. Talia is danger incarnated, a beautiful and deadly woman that you underestimate at your peril.
5. Ra’s al Ghul

The aura fruits of the al Ghul family start at the tree itself with Ra’s al Ghul. Ra’s al Ghul is one of the most dangerous villains in the world. For centuries, Ra’s al Ghul has amassed power, destroying entire cultures that he felt weren’t deserving of life, acting as the silent judge of humanity. Ra’s al Ghul is the unstoppable evil in humanity; while his goals are sometimes noble, he’s willing to do the most inhuman things to destroy everyone in his way. Ra’s al Ghul exudes danger and wisdom. Ra’s is an evil genius of the highest order, and he truly feels immortal, an unkillable menace that will destroy anything in front of him. Even if you kill him to stop him, you know that you’ve only just bought yourself a reprieve from him. Ra’s al Ghul always comes back, and he comes back even worse than before.
4. KGBeast

KGBeast is one of the most deadly Batman villains out there. Sent to the US by the KGB to destroy Batman, he has a weapon arm that has held everything from guns, flamethrowers, and blades, giving him the perfect, deadly look. He’s an extremely formidable villain who has fought Batman to a standstill many times. KGBeast is exactly the kind of assassin you’d want to hire, a consummate professional who will go to any lengths to succeed in his missions. There’s a core of Russian steel inside of him, and you never doubt how dangerous he is. One of the things I love about KGBeast is that his name is so cool that when the KGB disbanded in the real world, they tried to change his name to just the Beast, but KGBeast was such a perfect name for him that no one used it. That’s aura.
3. Two-Face

Two-Face is one of the most popular villains in comics, and that makes perfect sense. Just look at him; he takes the dichotomy of every human being and puts it on display. Two-Face is good and evil in equal measure. He’s mercy and murder at the same time, the decision made with the flip of a coin. He’s both beautiful and ugly, and his scarred visage is one of the most recognizable in comics. I think one of the things about Two-Face that gives him so much aura is the unpredictability of the man. Sure, villains like Joker are unpredictable, but you know that no matter what happens, he’s going to kill you. With Two-Face, you don’t know if you’re going to live or die, and it’s helped make him one of the most powerful criminals in Gotham City.
2. Bane

Bane earned his aura by devastating Batman in the classic tale known as “Knightfall”. Bane had everything he needed to be a scary villain; he’s a mountain of muscle with an awesome lucha mask. However, what really gives Bane his dangerous aura is his mind. Bane is always figuring out how to destroy his enemies, his mind working at a pace that most villains can’t imagine. Bane’s actions โ breaking Batman and enacting a plan that used every major Batman villain and kicked him out of the city โ cemented his unstoppable aura. He even sassed Apex Lex (Lex Luthor combined with the protoplasmic body of Martian Manhunter infused with his own), and Lex didn’t even try to destroy him, letting him do his thing. When Lex trusts you to keep Batman under your thumb, that’s aura.
1. The Joker

The DC Multiverse is full of scary villains, but the Joker takes the cake. The Joker’s insanity oozes out of him. He is smiling death with a white face and red lips, and there’s only one thing that is guaranteed when the Joker shows up โ people are going to get hurt. The Joker is a murderous monster, and it’s impossible to figure out what he’s going to do next. The Joker has cultivated an aura of menace, his purple and green coloration as recognizable as the black cloak of the Grim Reaper. The Joker thinks that everything is a joke, but he’s deadly serious.
