The villain for Arrow season five rumors keep coming in, and this one is much more substantial than the last. We already knew from star Stephen Amell himself that season five would be a much more grounded one than the last few have been. "I think that ultimately, we are always going to be at our best when we do what we do best, which is, we're the superpowerless superhero show, right?" he told Comicbook.com. He has since followed that up with statements about the big bad of season five having no superpowers, a shift from the super-strong and fast Deathstroke, the near-immortal Ra's, and the magically-powered Damian Darhk.

Now, according to a report by TVLine, we may have a name and full character description for the season five big bad. They report he's "tentatively" named Anton Church - that means that name could just be a placeholder for a name pulled from the comics, as that one doesn't currently exist at DC Comics publishing. The character is said to be "an apex predator that cuts his way through the shadows" and aims at "the biggest threat first." With Oliver Queen as the Mayor of Star City and the Green Arrow as its very public protector, well, that seems like he'd be first in line.

They also report he's "loosely inspired" by the drug kingpin Stringer Bell on The Wire as played by Idris Elba. Whether that means he'll actually be involved in the drug trade (something we've already seen before with Vertigo on the show) or be just more of a general crime boss is yet to be seen. Either way, fans will probably be very happy to see a good old-fashioned human foe next year.

Arrow returns to The CW Wednesdays at 8pm this Fall.
