Adam West's Batman Art Could Sell For $70K

If you have ever wanted a fun piece of Batman history, then you may want to make plans for an impromptu road trip. This week, Adam West is hosting his first art exhibition called 'Criminals on Canvas' in Sun Valley, Idaho. The show will will feature a slew of paintings which West created, and each is inspired by the classic Batman television series wherein he played Bruce Wayne. Now, the estimates are in, and it looks like West stands to earn a pretty penny from the exhibit if his art sells as planned.

Holy Art Commissions, Batman!

Adam West's official website has been updated in anticipation for the art exhibit. The event will launch at Gilman Contemporary Art and run from December 20-22. The site says each originals will be sold at the even, but a limited run of prints will also be sold online.

"Each piece is a limited edition of 100 prints and will be available to you for $500," the site reads. "Stay tuned!"

According to TMZ, it is West's original pieces that are expected to earn the big bucks. The exhibition will feature 11 original canvas paintings by West which depict odd reimaginings of characters like the Penguin, Riddler and Alfred. However, it is his Joker piece that fans are ready to fight over. "Joker Evening Makeup" is said to retail for $7,000 - and there is no doubt that a few collectors will bid above and beyond that price.

Breaking down the profits, it looks like West's complete art collection would sell for more than $70 thousand, and then there will be print retails added on top of that staggering figure.

In the last 50 years, West has been busy with art and keeping up-to-date on all of Gotham's affairs for his art project. The actor is now ready to share his creative pieces, and West could not be more excited.

"I decided to kind of do an homage to the show and all the wonderful stars and characters we had," West said about the show.

West is scheduled to attend the exhibit's opening ceremony, and fans will then have a chance to buy some of the actor's art that evening.

"Batman was a colorful and wild ride. My paintings capture the humor, zaniness and depth of the Batman villains as well as the Freudian motivations of Batman as an all-too-human, venerable and funny vigilante superhero," West said, describing how the show has influenced his art. "My art, like my acting, is a profound expression of poetic license."

Fans are definitely glad to hear that West has not totally abandoned his Gotham roots. However, it seems like West is content to relive his Batman glory days through paint, but he would not be averse to suit up for old time's sake. Recently, West's on-screen sidekick Burt Ward told our site the pair would definitely do another live-action film as Batman and Robin. And, not long ago, West told ComicBook.com he would be willing to do a cameo for Ben Affleck's Batman movie if the latter wanted him on set.
