Amber Heard Shares New Photo In Mera Costume From Aquaman Movie

The team behind Aquaman is quickly making their work public. The first day of production on the upcoming DC Films project is already offering two new looks at Amber Herd’s portrayal of Mera.

Following director James Wan’s reveal of Heard’s Mera costume as it will appear in Justice League, Herd took to Twitter herself to share a new photo. With the photo came the caption, “Meet Mera. Day 1 #Aquaman.” Since posting, the image has been retweeted by fans over a thousand times.

Before fans get to see Mera in Aquaman, they will have a chance to see the character appear in Justice League. The highly anticipated blockbuster will feature both Mera and Aquaman as the Justice League assembles to defeat the looming threat which Steppenwolf brings to Earth.

Earlier today, Heard gave fans a personal update from the set of Aquaman. The actress posted a photo from her trailer as she got ready for filming, and Heard wrote a quick caption which reflected on all the prep she’s put into her role. “Over a year of prep, 6 months of training, & countless hrs of denying myself pleasure, aka donuts, has led to this moment: Day 1. #Aquaman,” she gushed.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), Ciarán Hinds (Steppenwolf), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth), J.K. Simmons (Commissioner Gordon), Amber Heard (Mera), Kiersey Clemons (Iris West) and Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor).

The DCEU continues when Wonder Woman opens in theaters on June 2, 2017, followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, The Batman, Dark Universe and Man of Steel 2 are currently without a release dates.
