Heard will bring the Queen of Atlantis herself Mera to DC’s cinematic universe in Justice League, but fans will really get to know her in the upcoming Aquaman solo film. She’s played her twice now, and as such, it isn’t hard to understand why the character is already her favorite.

“Mera is a personal favorite of mine, and she’s the damn queen of Atlantis,” Heard told Allure. “Daughter of the king of Xebel, she’s a fighter and she has the power to use hydrokinesis, the ability to control water. Her appearance on the big screen is long overdue.”

Mera is far from the only amazing hero in the DCU, and for the next spot, the attention goes to a New God.

“Rare int eh superhero world, Big Barda, is a bad guy gone good,” Heard said. “She spent her life as a mercenary and an assassin but left it all behind to use her skills more nobly after meeting her husband Mr. Miracle, becoming an even bigger superhero than he was.”

You can’t have a discussion like this without including the Amazon warrior Wonder Woman, and Heard didn’t leave her out.

“Wonder Woman is usually the first that comes to mind,” Heard said. “Coming from an Amazonian island she’s got everything. She’s got super strength, magic accessories, and a kindness that sets her apart from other heroes. She’s been in relationships with men and women, and her sexuality is consistently respected, as it should be.”

Heard also gave rundowns on heroes (and anti-heroes) like Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy, and to hear her thoughts you can check out the full video above.

Mera will appear first in the upcoming Justice League, which currently holds a 4.17 out of 5 on ComicBook.com’s anticipation rankings. You can submit your vote on the movie here.

Fans will soon get the chance to see her in action, as Justice League lands in theaters on November 17.
