Aquaman clearly stole the show in the Justice League trailer, but ever since it’s been all about Mera leading up to the Aquaman solo film. Some new footage shows that the character isn’t one to be messed with.

That’s something an unfortunate drunk on the street found out, courtesy of footage captured by @Amazonheroicon. The footage shows a scene where Mera is walking down the street when a drunk man approaches her. He seems to have a beer in his hand as he walks toward her, only for it to explode as she passes by.

She seems focused on the building seen in the left corner, possibly indicating a meeting is about to take place. The can exploding is likely caused by her Aquakinesis, a powerset that enables her to control water in a myriad of ways.

Fans will likely see her abilities explored in greater detail in Aquaman, as she is only supposed to have a small cameo in Justice League.

The footage can be seen below.

Aquaman director James Wan recently described what Amber Heard brings to Mera, saying “I think Amber will bring that sense of strength, but at the same time, we also want someone who has a sort of feminine quality to her as well. She’s a bit of a contrast to Momoa, who’s more of a muscular machine almost.”

Aquaman currently has a 3.85 out of 5 on ComicBook.com’s anticipating rankings, while Justice League currently has a 4.17 out of 5. The official description can be found below.

Aquaman stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Ludi Lin, Dolph Lundgren, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Temuera Morrison, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Patrick Cox, Otis Dhanji, and Kaan Guldur.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroesโ€”Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flashโ€”it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill(Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), Ciarรกn Hinds (Steppenwolf), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth), J.K. Simmons (Commissioner Gordon), Amber Heard (Mera), Kiersey Clemons (Iris West) and Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor).

Wonder Woman is in theaters now, followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, The Batman, Dark Universe and Man of Steel 2 are currently without a release dates.
