Inside his office, Oliver and Lance are approached by FBI Special Agent Watson. She reveals the FBI is investigating Oliver for his alleged connection with the Green Arrow.

Act I

At Team Arrow HQ, Felicity, Curtis, Dinah, and Diggle are working on figuring out where the picture came from.

Rene informs Oliver that the picture wasn’t mailed into the news station, rather it was produced from someone within the station.

While on a site with some sort of economic development group, Oliver and the group is ambushed by a group of gunmen.  Lance and Oliver are able to escape only to get stopped outside of the warehouse they were visiting — it’s apparent the group of gunmen are part of the Bratva led by Anatoly.

Act II

Diggle and Dinah are having a discussion — it’s still tense after the events of last week’s episode.

Felicity and Curtis are hard at work trying to figure where the Bratva took the members of the party with Oliver and Lance.  Curtis uncovers a way to track the trail of cryptocurrency.

In Oliver’s office, Rene runs in and turns on the TV, the Bratva has sent a message to New Channel 52, requesting a ransom of $20 million in exchange for the hostages.  Oliver’s phone rings — William has gotten into a fight at school.  Bullies beat him up because of the news of his dad being the Green Arrow.

In the back of the limo, Oliver tells William to punch the bullies back next time.  Felicity calls and tells him they’ve located Anatoly.

Team Arrow converges on the location and they begin to fight with the guards.  After taking most of the guards out, they realize not all the hostages are at the location they thought.

Act III

Rene and Lance are sitting in an interview room with Special Agent Watson waiting for Oliver to arrive.  Oliver ends up texting Lance saying he can’t make it to the interview, he has a family emergency.  Special Agent Watson is understandably upset and says that Rene and Lance could be on the hook for obstruction of justice.

Oliver is talking to William about the bully situation at school.  His phone starts ringing and it’s Anatoly.  The latter reveals he needs money and that’s why he took the hostages.

Act IV

Using the video of Anatoly and Oliver’s conversation, Team Arrow is able to use the face rash of the hostage to get him the right antidote to cure the poisoning by Anatoly.

Dinah and Diggle go to the hospital to get the antidote and after the doctor leaves the room, Diggle reveals that he got hit by some shrapnel in the explosions on Lian Yu giving him nerve damage — that’s why he’s no longer a steady shot with his gun.

At Oliver’s office, Rene tells him that Special Agent Watson has released a person of interest list and William is listed as one of the people she wants to interrogate.  Oliver promises to do everything in his power to make sure she doesn’t interrogate his son.  While speaking with Rene about having William lie to an FBI agent, Felicity sends him a message saying they’ve got Anatoly’s location again.

Team Arrow converges on an abandoned ship yard.

Act V

At the shipyard, the team begins to fight the Bratva thugs when Dinah starts to get choked from behind.  Diggle pulls out his gone and continues to hesitate, making Dinah save herself.

Oliver’s able to get to Anatoly and the hostage and shoots the captive with the antidote.  Once Anatoly finds out about the antidote, he shoots the captive through the chest, killing him.

When approached about his switch to a villain, Anatoly tells Oliver he’s still a good man saying how he had every opportunity to bomb William’s school or take William hostage instead.

Oliver accuses him of leaking the picture of him as Green Arrow to the press and Anatoly doubles down an being an honorable man.

Act VI

After letting Anatoly get away, Oliver agrees to meet with Agent Watson.  Oliver lets her know that he’s willing to open up his entire life to her — with the lone exception of leaving William alone.

In the middle of questioning, another agent pops in and turns on the TV.  On the newscast, the anchor reveals that they’ve gotten confirmation that the leaked photo was digitally doctored.

At Felicity’s place, her and Curtis keep discussing who could have framed Oliver.  They’re also talking about starting a business for coding and tech development.

At HQ, Diggle approaches Dinah about the shipyard.  Diggle admits to her that he’s compromised, saying he’ll tell Oliver and see where it goes.

Oliver walks into William’s room as he’s playing video games.  He apologizes for a making a promise he couldn’t keep, admitting his son was right.  Oliver reiterates that he’ll do everything in his power to make sure William never ends up as an orphan because of his vigilantism.  The two end up playing the video game.

At Arrow HQ, Oliver’s looking at his uniform on a mannequin.  Diggle walks in and Oliver asks him to start suiting up as the Green Arrow, citing the desire to protect his son.
