Ben Affleck Talks Playing Batman & Will Do Hero’s ‘Stripped’ Voice Soon

There are many things which Batman is known for, but the hero’s voice ranks up there. Thanks to the vigilante’s cowl, Batman has famously sported a foreboding deep voice over the years. In recent years, Christian Bale nailed the raspy voice in The Dark Knight trilogy. Now, Ben Affleck is the man behind the character as he inherited the role before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice debuted. Now, the actor is getting ready to unleash the voice yet again, and it won’t be like anything fans have heard before.

In an interview with People, Affleck talked about his upcoming gig with Red Nose Day as the actor will take part in NBC’s special. When asked about his work, the actor said he will be doing a so-called acapella take on Batman’s baritone voice.

“I’m doing my Batman voice,” the actor told the magazine about his job. “No cowl — just the stripped-down, unplugged version.”

There’s no telling how the Batman voice will make its way onto the special, but fans have their hopes about the bit. Perhaps an acoustic guitar will be involved? Maybe it will be played by Aquaman himself? Who knows? For now, fans can only be certain that Affleck will whip out the voice later this month, and it will be for a good cause.

Not only will the skit be done for charity, but the Batman gig gives Affleck a chance to have fun with the character. Playing the Gotham hero can be a daunting task thanks to Batman’s dark past, but Affleck bears it well. Still, he is excited to bring a more comedic side of Batman to life.

“It’s a lot of fun,” Affleck admitted. “Batman is such a serious, heavy character, there is the temptation to be funny about it, or at least self-aware. I really enjoy it. Obviously it is a character that means a lot to a lot of people and I’m having fun playing it.”
