Tonight’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow had plenty of action and plot development…but not too much in the way of Easter eggs or references to the comics.

Here’s a few nifty little winks to the past we found in tonight’s episode. What did we catch? What did we miss?Read on and comment below.
Leviathan

There have been two Leviathans in DC Comics. ย The first Leviathan was Gim Allor, a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. ย While Allorย used the code name Colossal Boy in the originalย Legionย of Super-Heroesย comics, the 1990s reboot changed his code name to Leviathan. As his name suggests, Leviathan could grow to enormous sizes, making him a valuable asset to the team. ย However, he met a tragic end when Shrinking Violet used the mystic Emerald Eye to grant his heart’s desire, which in his case was a heroic death. ย Shrinking Violet, having somehow gained Leviathan’s powers after his death, took the code name LeViathanย in his honor.
The most recent Leviathan wasn’t a person at all, but an offshoot of the League of Assassins. ย Taliaย al Ghulย created Leviathan to oppose Batman’s global Batman Incorporated organization, but it disbanded after Taliaย died during her final battle against Batman and his allies. ย

ATOM Suit

As if it weren’t obvious, Savage’s Leviathan is clearly a giant version of Ray’s ATOM suit. ย Ray used his own suit’s dwarf star matter to grow in size to defeat the Leviathan. ย In the comics, the Atom briefly had the ability to both grow and shrink after the events ofย Zero Hour, but he lost those growing abilities not too long after.ย
The Rebel Leader

This isn’t really an Easter egg, but more of a fun connection to a past DC television show. ย You might recognize Sharon Taylor, who played the unnamed Rebel Leader on tonight’s episode, fromย Smallville, where she played Zod’sย lieutenant Faora.ย
Cassandra Savage

While longtimeย DC fans were hoping a different daughter of Vandal Savage would appear on tonight’s episode, Cassandra Savage is actually based on a different DC character. ย Kassandraย Sage is one of Vandal Savage’s daughters in the New 52. ย After the police arrested Savage for a string of sacrificial murders, Kassย grew up to become a profiler for the FBI, specializing in serial killers.ย ย After not speaking to Savage for years, Kassย used her father to help solve a string of copycat murders committed by the son of the man who arrested Savage. ย
Of course, most fans were hoping that Cassandra would wind up being Scandal Savage, a member of the Secret Six, a group of anti-hero mercenaries. ย Scandal was the field leader of the team and wore a pair of “Lamentation Blades” belonging to her father. ย Scandal had a cold relationship with her father, as Savage only wanted her aliveย so she could produce an heir. ย Since Savage was a lesbian, she didn’t approve of any of Savage’s (male) choices to be her mate. ย
