In a few years, a superhero will be returning to theaters in a big way. After a less-than-stellar debut years ago, Green Lantern has been waiting for a chance to redeem itself. The beloved DC Comics franchise is one which readers around the world have come to cherish, and it looks like Warner Bros. is determined to get it right. With Green Lantern Corps. in the works, heroes like John Stewart and Hal Jordan will be introduced to moviegoers sooner than later, and one star may be eyeing the role.
Over on Twitter, fans have been busy creating fantasy castings for Green Lantern Corps. When it comes to John Stewart, talent like Common and Sterling K. Brown have become favorites amongst netizens, but another star is also making lists. Trevante Rhodes stands as a sought-after actor for fans, and it seems like MTV had a chance to ask the actor about the support.
Taking to social media, MTV's Josh Horowitz confirmed he spoke with Rhodes at last night's Oscars and mentioned Green Lantern."I talk to him about Green Lantern last night," Horowitz revealed. "His response was curious…"
At this time, neither Horowitz or MTV have commented on what 'curious' entails, but fans are running wild with hopeful speculation.
Of course, there is little known about Green Lantern Corps. in any official manner. The film has no set timeline for production given its future release, and Warner Bros. has kept quiet about casting. All fans know is that the feature will star two leads and its storyline is said to be like "Lethal Weapon in space." As for its script, the story is being penned by David Goyer and Justin Rhodes.
The past few months have been a turbulent one for Green Lantern fans. While a slew of stars have vocalized their desire to play Stewart, one actor has led the charge for Jordan. Armie Hammer became the focus of headlines last year as the actor persistently teased his potential involvement with Green Lantern Corps.

As for Trevante, the star was supposedly considered for another DCEU flick. Reports have suggested the actor was a contender for Aquaman's Black Manta, but the role ultimately went elsewhere. However, that does not mean the actor's shot at superhero glory is bust. A similar situation happened with Nicole Kidman as the actress was scouted to play Wonder Woman's mother before she eventually was tapped for Aquaman.
