Justice League will bring together the heroes of the DC Extended Universe as a team for the first time. While there have been some reports that Warner Bros. is rethinking its DC movie universe plans, DC Films chief and president of DC Entertainment Geoff Johns recently ensured fans that the universe these characters inhabit is “100% connected,” though a separate bit of news revealed that the universe may not actually be called the DC Extended Universe.
Johns also recently touched upon some of the criticism levied at how the studio has handled it superhero movie universe so far.
The DC Extended Universe, or whatever it is actually supposed to be called, will continue to grow following Justice League with the Aquaman movie opening in 2018. There’s a Flash movie, now titled Flashpoint, on the horizon, as well as a second Justice League movie, The Batman, the Man of Steel sequel, the Cyborg movie, and the Green Lantern Corps film.
On the more villainous side of the DC Universe, there’s also a sequel to Suicide Squad in the works, as well as a Gotham City Sirens movie and a Joker and Harley Quinn spinoff. A standalone Joker movie set outside of the DC Extended Universe is also in the works.
Justice League currently has a 4.18 out of 5 ComicBook.com User Anticipation Rating, making it the third most anticipated upcoming comic book movie among ComicBook.com users.
