Powerless is the very first of it’s kind. So we will certainly be giving this new DC TV series a lot of our attention.

Out of all the comic book TV shows, there hasn’t been a sit-com until now.

Powerless is, in fact, connected to the DC Universe and lives within its’ continuity.

The show has a cast stacked full of sit-com giants and a pretty new face with Vanessa Hudgens front and center.

Some are saying that Powerless is comparable to The Office, but with Wonder Woman and Superman flying around.

Imagine a workplace comedy wearing a superhero cape.

Be on the lookout for Powerless to premiere on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.

With that said, this is what we know so far about DC’s new comedy Powerless…

The Batman Connection

We recently learned that Powerless is directly connected to Gotham City and Batman himself.

In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer.

Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.

What are these safety devices that supposedly protect innocent bystanders?

Would they have helped people survive when Superman was forced to destroy tMetropolis in Man of Steel?

More importantly, how do we get one?

There Will Be Superheroes

Not only will Wonder Woman and Batman be name dropped, but Powerless will be full of actual DC superheroes and villains.

In the season premiere photos, we’ve already spotted Crimson Fox.

NBC executive Jennifer Salke spoke to IGN and revealed some details about the show and how DC characters will appear:

“This is a world where superheroes are not only just on green screen out the window of this office, but they’re also running into you on the street and wreaking havoc.”

In addition to longtime Justice League Europe member Crimson Fox, NBC’s forthcoming DC Comics comedy Powerless will feature an appearance by Global Guardian Jack O’Lantern, the cast confirmed for DC All Access.

The Comedic Cast

The cast of Powerless is sure to make us laugh and maybe have some feel-good moments as well.

Vanessa Hudgens of Disney’s High School Musical fame is playing Emily Locke.

Emily likes to fly under the radar and just get her work done. She finds herself increasingly exasperated by the disruptive antics of the various superheroes that proliferate in her city.

Danny Pudi from Community will play Emily’s best friend and confidant Teddy.

Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) plays Del, the new manager who is apparently a bit difficult to work with.

Christina Kirk (A to Z) is Jackie, a superhero fangirl who is Emily’s assistant.

We know a lot of Christinas, and actually maybe we are all Christinas.

Ben Queenย (“A to Z,” “Cars 2”) serves as writer and executive producer. Director Michael Patrick Jannย (“A to Z,” “Children’s Hospital,” “Reno 911!”) also executive produces. Powerlessย is produced by Warner Bros. Television and based on the characters from DC Comics.
