Cody Rhodes is a professional wrestler, who is best known for wrestling under the name Stardust in the WWE. However, Rhodes asked for and was granted his release from the WWE in May of this year.
Back when Cody Rhodes was known as Stardust, his supervillain schtick attracted the attention of Stephen Amell, the star of The CW’s Arrow. The two fought in a highly-publicized WWE bout at SummerSlam last year, with Amell coming out ahead.
This season, the tables will turn as the now-retired (from the WWE) Rhodes heads to Arrow in an as-yet-undisclosed role.
“Before we get going, we have an announcement,” Amell said during a panel the two appeared in together. “We have a new guest star on Arrow this year: Mr. Cody Rhodes. I’m so fired up for this guy; he and I haven’t really had much of a chance to talk about it but we’ve been friends for a little over a year now. I know that Cody has really wanted to get into the acting business. He went to LA, he read for a part, and his deal closed yesterday and the dude is going to be on Arrow and I’m so fired up.”

It’s another chance for Rhodes to put on a superhuman showing, although it isn’t immediately clear what kind of character he will play on the series.
Arrow returns in October for a new season which will bring, among others, DC Comics supeheroes Vigilante and Wild Dog to the small screen for the first time in live action. The series is expected to begin production next week, along with The Flash, Supergirl, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, in Vancouver.
