Superman New 52 Statue From Prime 1 Studio Up For Pre-Order
It's not a bad time to be a Superman fan, as the DC icon is currently making his presence felt not only in the comics but also successfully on television and on the big screen. That makes this the perfect time to add an impressive Superman statue from Prime 1 Studio to your collector's shelf.
The impressive polystone statue is based on the New 52 version of the character, which saw some significant tweakings to the costume. The new suit featured more armor indentations and definition lines, with red trim on the cuffs and neck. The biggest change was the removal of the classic red trunks, replaced with a sleek red belt.
Prime 1 Studio's statue beautifully recreated the character as he hovers above the wreckage from a previous battle. Superman's pose is primed for action and features some unique characteristics that aren't often seen in statues like this. His cape superbly sculpted, with a lovely sense of motion and fullness to it, and that skill was also put to good use on the cape's texture, which you can see in some of the up close photos.
The paint application is also impressive, especially in the "S" symbol, which is the brightest spot of color on the whole statue, and rightfully so. Superman's skin was crafted out of translucent resin to give it a lifelike effect, and it appears as if it worked out quite well. The facial sculpt is also quite good, though a bit generic. Superman is crafted in 1/4
Superman is crafted in 1/4 scale and stands at about 27 inches high. If you don't like the regular portrait, the statue also comes with a swappable exclusive heat vision portrait with a more intense facial expression.
It's an impressive statue to be sure, and it will be rather expensive at $749.99. Of course, you can split that into payments of around $85 a month, but that isn't exactly cheap. If you do have the disposable income, though, it's something quite worthy of displaying. Superman is up for pre-order now from Sideshow Collectibles and is eyeing an August 2017 to October 2017 release window.

Of course, if New 52 Superman isn't your cup of tea, you can always opt for Supergirl's version, Henry Cavill's version, or the current Rebirth version in the comics. All in all, Superman fans have a bevy of choices at their disposal when it comes to their favorite character, and that's a wonderful thing to have.
