In the show’s original timeline, after Reverse-Flash/Eobard Thawne traveled into the past and murdered Barry Allen’s mother, he discovered he couldn’t harness the Speed-Force to get back to his own time. With knowlege of the future, knowing Dr. Harrison Wells and his wife Dr. Tess Morgan would create a particle accelerator in the future that could help him with his current dilemma, Thawne caused the couple to get into a car crash. The crash killed Dr. Morgan, and Thawne used a futuristic device to take on Dr. Wells’s appearance, which also sucked the life out of the real Dr. Wells.

However, now that Barry prevented Thawne from killing his mother, will we see the real Dr. Wells (and his wife) in the Flashpoint timeline?
“I played the original Wells on the beach with Tess,” Tom Cavanagh told Entertainment Weekly. “This guy won’t be that guy. If the show has strengths, I would argue that we’re not repeating ourselves generally, and specifically I’m trying not to repeat myself.”
Blinded by anger, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) unwittingly plays into Zoom’s game and uncovers the evil speedster’s true goal: to destroy all Earths in the multiverse. In the race of his life, Barry ultimately gets the upper hand against Zoom and defeats his nemesis. But unable to celebrate victory, Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.
The cast also features Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, and Tom Cavanaugh as Dr. Harrison Wells.
