It’s easy to get lost in the world of superheroes even as adults. For kids, though the experience is even more surreal, and one such fan still sticks with Wonder Woman‘s Gal Gadot to this day.

Gadot recently recalled the first time she actually suited up in the Wonder Woman costume to Variety. She was making her first appearance in the DCEU in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and after she was in full costume she was approached by a young girl. The girl happened to be the niece of a crew member and gave Gadot a picture she drew of her as well as a note. “She wrote that she wished me luck and she was Wonder Woman’s No. 1 fan,” recalls Gadot. “I keep it with me.”
Producer Deborah Snyder remembers that day well, even tearing up at the time. “This girl and my daughter, who is now 5, will be able to have a female superhero as a role model,” says Snyder. “They’ll have this strong character to look up to.” It’s been a long time coming, but Wonder Woman has been waiting to influence a whole new generation of fans. It seems it will definitely be worth the wait.
