An ad that flashed up temporarily on a PlayStation 4 subreddit revealed a listing for The Evil Within 2, the much-anticipated sequel to the first survival-horror game, The Evil Within, from Bethesda.

While the ad didn't stay up for too long, someone captured an image of it and made sure that the information was made public. After refreshing the PS4 subreddit's main page a couple of times, the ad never popped back up again, so it looks like it's been taken down, for now.

"From survival horror mastermind Shinji Mikami comes The Evil Within 2. Now available for preorder. 'The only way out is in,'" reads the text that was listed on the ad.

Another ad was reportedly seen by Gematsu, one that specifically mentioned the game would be made by Bethesda once again.

"Bethesda returns you to the nightmare in The Evil Within 2. Now available for preorder. How will you survive?" the second ad read.

Fans have been speculating as to whether or not a sequel was in the works for the first game, and rumors that The Evil Within 2 was in production gained some credibility when some job listings were spotted from Tango Gameworks, the developer of The Evil Within. Some of the job listings from Tango were vague, but one specifically mentioned that the applicant would be working on The Evil Within 2. It seemed a bit questionable that such a listing would so explicitly give away an unconfirmed title, but this newest round of leaks makes the idea of an upcoming sequel all but confirmed.

When The Evil Within was first released in 2014, it was compared heavily to Resident Evil games, a series that closely aligns with the taut, bloody experience that The Evil Within offers. Complete with all the horror essentials that include chainsaws, gruesome traps, and enemies that spend just as much time crawling as they do trying to kill you, The Evil Within is a stressful ride that encourages creative ways of hiding from problems instead of blasting them head-on.

Given that the leaked ads carried information about being "now available for preorder," if everything goes as fans would hope, Bethesda will likely have more to say about the sequel during their conference today. Hopefully, those ads will be circulating again very soon.

Bethesda is set to kick off their E3 conference today at 9 p.m. PT.
