We’ve been reporting on the separate release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered for quite a while now, even though Activision hasn’t officially confirmed it being sold apart from Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition just yet. But today, the team at Charlie Intel unearthed some new images of what appears to be separate box art for the forthcoming release, as well as a possible release date and price point.
According to the leaked information, the game is set to arrive on June 27th โ one week after its proposed June 20th release โ and is set to sell for $39.99. No word yet if it’s just for PlayStation 4 only, or if the release will come for Xbox One and PC as well.

It looks like the box art, taken from a leaked copy sold over at Target, is pretty official. The front cover art, which you can see above, indicates the inclusion of Activision, Raven Software and Infinity Ward logos, along with a quote from IGN noting that the game was the “best remaster of the year.”
Meanwhile, on the back cover art, pictured below, we have some other details, including what kind of hard drive space the game will require (around 50GB โ pretty hefty, but the game looks it), along with the ability to support PlayStation 4 Pro with enhanced visuals, remote play, network players and more. There’s also another quote from Inquisitr, along with images from the remastered version of the game.
Activision still hasn’t said anything about the release just yet, but considering that it could arrive sometime next week, we’re likely to know more sometime this week โ maybe even tomorrow, considering the legitimacy of how this art looks. We’ll let you know once the company drops word.
Fans have been requesting a separate release for Modern Warfare Remastered for some time, not really feeling the desire to pay $80 for an Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition in order to play it. Hopefully, we’ll see it happen, and then traffic for the game will no doubt pick up immensely.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, but only as part of the Legacy Edition package for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
