Since being unveiled late last year Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite has been criticized for its bland art style and wildly inconsistent characters models. Some characters, like Chun-Li, looked so wonky rumors spread Marvel was insisting Capcom characters be uglified so their heroes look better in comparison. That seems unlikely, but still, poor Chun-Li has seen better days. Thankfully, something has been done about it.

Capcom has said they’re looking into Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite‘s wonky characters, and Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono later promised fixes are actively being worked on:

“The development team is hard at work finishing the game for the September 19th release date, and based off the feedback we heard, we are currently making improvements to Chun-Li as well as other Capcom characters. Since the work is still in progress, we don’t have anything final to show you just yet, but stay tuned.”

Well, apparently Capcom wasn’t just covering their butts. The publisher recently released a new story trailer for MvC: Infinite, and a number of fans noticed Chun-Li was looking more herself. Check out a comparison, below:

Yup, definitely an upgrade, although you could argue the new Chun-Li face still looks a bit flat and stiff. I mean, yeah, she no longer looks like a terrified baby, but her appearance in Street Fighter V remains obviously superior.

I’m not sure what went wrong with MvC: Infinite‘s visuals, but it’s a shame they’re detracting from what looks like a solidly entertaining fighter. Hopefully fans will be able to look past the occasional ugly mug and have some fun with the game.
