Classic PS2 and Xbox Game Available for Just $1.87 for a Limited Time

A classic PS2 and original Xbox game is available for just $1.87 for a limited time. The game in question normally costs $24.99, so this new 93% discount is a substantial amount of savings. That said, for those on PlayStation or Xbox eager to relive their nostalgic years, the new offer is for a Steam copy of the game only, which means you will need a PC to experience the 2006 nostalgia rush.

The new Steam deal comes specifically from Fanatical, which has Rogue Trooper Redux at this price point until September 28 or as supplies last, whichever comes first. The game is also available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One, but this deal isn’t.

A Remaster of a 2006 Classic

As the name suggests, this is not the 2006 original version of Rogue Trooper developed by Rebellion Developments for PS2, Xbox, and Windows, but the remaster done by the same UK developer for the aforementioned platforms. Both are obviously based on the original British comic of the same name, and the game served as the second 2000 AD game released by Rebellion Developments following 2003’s Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death.

Upon release, the original game only garnered a Metacritic score in the low 70s; however, the IP involved ensured it was a bit of a cult-classic despite this, hence why it was able to get a remaster a decade later in 2017, ahead of more popular and better games.

For those who have never played the nostalgic game, or even heard about it, it is a third-person tactical shooter set in a revenge tale. In it, you play as the last Genetic Infantryman (GI), soldiers bred for war, who is seeking revenge after being left for dead and betrayed at the Quarts Zone massacre by your superiors.

Collector’s Edition

In addition to the standard version of the game, Fanatical also has the Collector’s Edition discounted by 93%, which means it is down from $29.74 to $2.23. This version of the game includes the original 21-track soundtrack, an exclusive Rogue Trooper comic inspired by the game, and two sets of HD desktop wallpaper. These obviously aren’t the greatest add-ons, but this version is less than $1 right now.
