The survival horror game Dead by Daylight has been around for exactly one year as of today, and the game is celebrating its anniversary by holding an Anniversary Bloodhunt event where players can earn double Bloodpoints for a full week. This will matter most to PC players since that’s currently the only platform that the game’s available on, but with the console version of Dead by Daylight coming at the end of the event week, it’s important to know how these Bloodpoints work if you plan on playing.

Whether you’re playing as a Survivor or as a Killer in Dead by Daylight, opportunities to earn Bloodpoints are always out there, and they’re definitely something that players should be on the lookout for. Bloodpoints act as an in-game currency to unlock perks, items, and other resources.

If you’re trying to make it through the night as a Survivor, most of your Bloodpoint opportunities will be focused on not dying, but you’re also rewarded for other acts, such as helping out your three other teammates as you all try to evade the Killer. There are four categories when it comes to Survivors’ Bloodpoints: Objectives, Survival, Altruism, and Boldness. Saving a teammate from being tossed onto a meat hook or spending time near the Killer will net you some points, but you could always just shoot straight for the big reward that comes with escaping the map.

As a Killer, on the other hand, you’ll earn these by ruining the Survivors’ games as quick as you can. Smashing objectives, performing Killer-specific tasks well, and taking out the Survivors are all ways to earn Bloodpoints throughout the night.

After collecting these Bloodpoints, you can use them to upgrade your Bloodweb, a web of unlockables that can be purchased as you level your character up. There are all kinds of items and perks to be gained from the Bloodweb, but it’s made up of connected nodes, so you’ll have to work your way up to the best perks as you progress. Bloodpoints earned by one character aren’t tied to that character, so you can allocate them as you see fit.

The double Bloodpoints event starts today on June 14 and will be active until June 20. Currently available for PC, Dead by Daylight is fully available for preorder on console versions, and it will be releasing for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 on June 20 for North America, June 23 for Europe.
