Ever since it launched on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 back in late 2016, Final Fantasy XV has become a heralded chapter in the ongoing Square Enix series. That said, the PC community felt shout out, wondering when they would get a turn with the massive adventure. Well, it turns out that you won’t have to wait long.

Today, the publisher confirmed that it will be bringing Final Fantasy XV to PC in early 2018. The game will be officially titled Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition (which indicates that it probably won’t get a release on Steam, though nothing is finalized yet) and that it will include all the paid DLC that was originally made available through the Season Pass, so you don’t have to worry about paying extra to get your hands on it. We spoke about the announcement earlier today, and it’s sure to generate some excitement amongst the FFXV community who wanted it…even though it isn’t on Steam.

Butโ€ฆthere’s a catch. According to stories making the rounds, Final Fantasy XV will take up a good deal of hard drive space. Early speculation indicates that it could take as much as 170GB of hard drive space. That’s the biggest we’ve seen for a PC title, even eclipsing the 100+ GB that’s required to run Gears of War 4 on a Windows-based PC. The game will support 8K-style visuals, so that may be where most of the data is coming from. Square Enix hasn’t provided all the specs just yet, but here’s hoping they find a way to compress that a little. Otherwise, those with 256GB of space on their solid state drive may find themselves having to rearrange their game library a little bit.

You can see the official trailer for Final Fantasy XV above, and it does paint a pretty picture with what’s to come from the PC version. We’ll see how well it shapes up when it arrives early next year.

In the meantime, if you can’t wait, Final Fantasy XV is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
