This should settle quite a few arguments right here. NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon was just recently interviewed by DC Entertainment All Access, and in the interview DC correspondent Rahul Kohli is getting the inside scoop on Sub-Zero, who is about to invade the Injustice 2 character roster as the first Mortal Kombat cross-over character. In the original Injustice: Gods Among Us we got to see Scorpion invade the multiverse, but this time around fans made it clear that Sub-Zero was the character we wanted to see.

Now that he’s here, how will he stack up against our favorite superheros and super-villains? Who would win in a fight: Batman, or Sub-Zero? DC All Access asks Ed Boon straight up. Watch the video above to see Boon weigh in around the 1:40 mark.
So sayeth Ed Boon. It doesn’t exactly sound like his heart is in it, though, does it? I mean he basically says “since we’re here to talk up Sub-Zero I guess that’s my answer.” Not that we expected him to say otherwise. Ed Boon is the father of Mortal Kombat. Sub-Zero is like a son to him. Of course the DC representative is going to take Batman’s side. Maybe many of you are taking Batman’s side as well and you think that Bruce Wayne really could defeat a supernatural ice ninja, but let’s be honest…
Sub-Zero Would Totally Win in a Fight
Yeah, that’s right, Iย said it. WWG is a division of comicbook.com so I’m pretty sure I could get fired for saying this, but Batman wouldn’t really stand a chance against Sub-Zero in a fight. He’s a worlds-class, mark that “worlds” plural, martial artist, and he has supernatural mastery over the elements of water and ice. Even if Sub-Zero were rendered a completely normal human being he’d still give Batman a run for his money, but when you throw in his ruthlessness and mystical abilities it’s not even fair…
I know, Batman fans. You’ve had to defend the Dark Knight in every single “who would beat who” argument since you were little kids. The fact that Batman is a human being among superheroes with godly strength and supernatural abilities has always meant that he has a significant disadvantage in these kinds of arguments. In the comics, shows, and movies, Batman always seems to pull through using nothing more than his intelligence and a few gadgets, but if it really came down to it I think we have to give the edge to the “gods among us.”
But that’s just my opinion. Well, mine and Ed Boon’s. Let’s settle this once and for all with raw numbers. Who would win in a fight between Batman and Sub-Zero? Weigh in on the poll below and we’ll let majority rule! And don’t forget, a special Injustice 2 livestream is taking place this afternoon at 3 Central, so we could see this very fight go down. We’ll be hosting the stream live on the site, so check back then!
