There seems to be a lot of complaining going on about Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. People don’t like the art style, the roster (which won’t feature any X-Men characters), and the somewhat simplified 2-on-2 fighting. But hey, maybe you’d like to decide for yourself? Well, PlayStation Underground has just released one of the meatiest Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite gameplay videos we’ve seen to date. Weighing in at over 25 minutes, the video takes us through a chunk of the game’s story mode, as well as a few rounds of versus mode, all in very crispy HD. You can check it all out, above.
The game’s story mode seems like a good amount of fun. Ultron and Mega Man X‘s Sigma have somehow fused together, and taken over the planet. Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite‘s story begins 80 days after the invasion and opens with Mega Man X picking up Captain America’s iconic shield, which is a pretty fantastic image. Early on, these kind of team ups seem to be the main focus of the story. We see Mega Man X and Captain America, Chun-Li and Captain Marvel, and Arthur from Ghouls ‘n Ghosts and Thor, which is sure to just be the tip of the iceberg.

As for the gameplay, let’s be honest, the characters do look a little stiff compared to past Marvel vs. Capcom games. That said, they don’t look nearly as bad as the most unflattering screenshots would imply. Chun-Li looks a little different than she usually does, but she’s not a monster. Again, putting aside the slightly stiff models, the fighting looks as fast and fun as ever, and some of the new super moves are pretty epic. I don’t blame you if you’re somewhat disappointed by the new art style, but this still appears to be a solid game.
